The widening and upgrading of the 65 km stretch of the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway between B.C. Road and Addahole near Gundia in Karnataka, is all set to start this month itself, said official sources that Larsen and Toubro has bagged the contract entailing an investment of Rs.821 crore. Due to soil moisture content, the project got delayed as the work could not be started in September, project manager, L&T, Vadiraj B. Katti, said. The company has bagged the project, which has been secured on the engineering, procurement and construction model, involves construction of about 300 culverts and also entails the construction of dual carriageway (four lanes) with concrete pavements.
