National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in a recent move has decided to build four new flyovers and a small one-way overpass on NH-8, in the Manesar area and further down towards Rajasthan, both to ease congestion and cater to additional traffic when the Dwarka Expressway when it goes on stream. Work on these projects is all set to start shortly, said sources, detailing that a 1.2km-long flyover will come up at IMT-Manesar — 200 metres from the IMT Chowk flyover — and go all the way up to near the compound of the National Security Guard (NSG) training centre, bypassing the congested Manesar market. The flyover will provide a hassle-free travel experience to commuters and residents on the stretch. Under the flyover, commuters will be able to take U-turns at three points as the stretch between IMT Chowk and the NSG camp is known for perpetual traffic snarls. The decision to construct the flyover at an estimated cost of ₹90 crore was taken in the wake of repeated demands for the same by residents of nearby villages and allied road users.
