NHAI takes up Rs. 2,000-cr projects in NCR

National Highway Authority of India
In its unfailing quest to build top class road network in the NCR region, NHAI has directed Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to acquire land for a trumpet interchange on the road dividing sectors 84-88 at an investment of Rs. 2,000 crore. In addition, NHAI technical consultant AECOM has also proposed an interchange road link to connect IMT Manesar. According to the final development plan, this road has a proposed width of 75 m and another 60m will be needed for the trumpet interchange merging with the road in New Gurugram— providing an alternative route to IMT Manesar as the traffic volume on the stretch will be very heavy, especially with traffic between Delhi and Manesar expected to rise at this particular intersection. Between Delhi and New Gurugram/IMT Manesar, this road will be an alternative to NH-8 with graded and separated interchange connectivity. GMDA on its part has already issued notification for acquisition of land and the agency will now proceed to acquire and give land to NHAI, said CEO, Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), V Umashankar. These apart, GMDA has also proposed two cloverleaf interchanges on Dwarka Expressway, which the Authority expects to become the city‘s main arterial road in the coming days. A second cloverleaf will come up at Dwarka Expressway where it crosses the Pataudi road near Hayatpur in Sector 88, he added.
