NHAI speeds up semi-ring road project in TN

The construction work on the much delayed stage II of the semi-ring road project connecting five national highways (NH) has been fast tracked by NHAI, Construction work for two elevated highways, including one bypassing railway tracks, would also start simultaneously. The semi-ring road will link five national highways namely Trichy-Thanjavur, Trichy-Pudukkottai, Trichy-Madurai, Trichy-Dindigul and Trichy-Karur. Work on phase II between Thuvakudi on Trichy-Thanjavur NH and Panjappur on Trichy-Madurai NH for 25 km has already started. 12 small bridges, one road over bridge (RoB) across railway track near Mathur on Trichy-Pudukkottai stretch would be built under stage II. Within the next 18 months, the semi-ring road between Thuvakudi and Panjappur will be commissioned. Once completed, it would link Panjapur and Jeeyapuram on Trichy-Karur NH, touching Thayanur on Trichy-Dindigul national highway. NHAI is acquiring 46 hectares of land to complete stage 1 of the semi-ring road between Panjappur and Jeeyapuram.
