NHAI Sets Guinness World Records for Longest & Highest Bituminous Concrete Laying

NHAI has set new benchmarks in National Highway construction by securing two Guinness World Records on the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NH-544G)near Puttaparthi. On 06 January 2026, NHAI’s concessionaire Rajpath Infracon achieved records for laying 28.95 lane km of Bituminous Concrete—the longest distance laid continuously within 24 hours—and 10,675 metric tonnes of Bituminous Concrete—the highest quantity laid continuously within 24 hours. Both records are global firsts in their respective categories.

Two more Guinness World Record attempts are currently underway from 05 to 12 January 2026 on the Vanavolu–Vankarakunta–Odulapalle stretch of NH-544G. The 343-km Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada Economic Corridor will significantly boost inter-state connectivity between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, improving trade, tourism and logistics with faster, safer and uninterrupted mobility.

These milestones reinforce India’s growing capability in world-class highway infrastructure and mark a major achievement in the country’s road construction journey.
