NHAI retendering NH-75 road stretch in Bangalore

In order to speed up the stalled on the Addahole-B C Road stretch on NH-75, NHAI will be floating rebids to complete the work, thereby dropping L&T company to which the contract for concreting the stretch was awarded. The new contractor needs some time to complete the processes and start work; till then, highway users will have to navigate this stretch which is full of potholes. Work will move at a faster pace once the contract is awarded, as the previous contractor had done land acquisition, leveling, etc. This is a part of the plan to concrete 45 km of road from Hassan to Marnahalli in Shiradi and 63 km stretch from Addahole in Shiradi to Bantwal. NHAI project director Somashekhar said that the central office has been approached with recommendation to float a fresh tender. During the road concreting, 16 km of the road between Addahole and Periyashanti will be kept out of the purview of the contract as this area falls under the Forest department and environment clearances have to be obtained to make sure that wildlife is not disturbed.
