The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently cleared ₹200 crore to the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) for fast tracking the work including the construction of a clover-leaves and flyovers in the 47-km Ring Road project. The cash-strapped civic body had sought funds from NHAI for the construction work and acquiring 26 hectares of land needed to kick start the project. The amount provided by the NHAI will be deducted from ₹350 crore which is proposed to be given to JDA in 10 years after the toll is levied. As per agreement, NHAI would provide ₹35 crore to JDA every year and also give 8% interest to the authority. The JDA will receive total ₹515 crore. In addition, NHAI will spend ₹238 crore to construct clover-leaves and flyovers as JDA has proposed an over bridge to cross Tonk Road.
