NHAI Hosts Workshop on Sustainable National Highway Development
NHAI held a national workshop in New Delhi to discuss environmental impact assessment, planning, and mitigation for National Highway development. Shri Anurag Jain, Secretary of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, was the Chief Guest. Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav, NHAI Chairman, and Shri Jitendra Kumar, IFS, DGF&SS, MoEF&CC, were also present, along with officials from various departments and industry experts.
The workshop featured panel discussions on environmentally sustainable road infrastructure. Topics included Wildlife Clearances, Eco-friendly Measures for Wildlife Impact Mitigation, Forest & Environment Clearances, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Coastal Regulation Zone Clearances.
Chief Guest Anurag Jain emphasized collaborative efforts using the PM Gati Shakti framework for sustainable National Highway development. Guest of Honour Shri Jitendra Kumar urged improved inter-departmental collaboration and sustainable practices in infrastructure development. NHAI Chairman Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav highlighted the need for sustainable practices from project conceptualization.
