The NHAI has speed-ed up the road widening and construction of a bridge project on the Pollachi Road as it is on the verge of securing all the mandatory clearances. Construction had got delayed mainly because of land acquisition issues. The road will be widened for 26 km and converted into a concrete stretch with four-lanes. A flyover is also being built at Eachanari as part of the project in the state of Tamil Nadu. Traffic diversion is in place to facilitate early completion of the flyover, said official sources.
