NHAI, GMDA Strengthen Coordination to Tackle Gurugram Highway Waterlogging

NHAI Chairman Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav met with GMDA CEO Shri Shyamal Misra and senior officials to enhance inter-agency coordination for resolving waterlogging issues along National Highways in Gurugram. The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing NH projects across the city to ensure timely execution through improved synergy between NHAI and GMDA.

As part of the strategy to ease traffic congestion, NHAI will conduct a detailed feasibility study to decongest Rajiv Chowk and Shankar Chowk, two of Gurugram’s most critical traffic choke points. The study will explore solutions including alternate traffic routes, structural redesigns, and additional infrastructure upgrades to enhance road safety and traffic flow.

Rajiv Chowk, a key interchange between NH-8 (Delhi-Jaipur highway) and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, has witnessed a sharp increase in vehicular load since the opening of the expressway in 2023, further burdening city traffic networks.
