NHAI floats tender for ₹519 cr road project

The National Highways Authority of India
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has recently floated a tender for ₹519.38 crore road widening project on NH-66 to convert the 182-km stretch into two-lane. The project would ensure smooth and safe travel for road users and would be implemented under phase III of the National Highway Development Project. The agency has also floated a tender of ₹4.14 crore about repair damaged roads along the stretch as a temporary arrangement before the famous Karthigai Maha Deepam festival kicks off in Tiruvannamalai where the project is scheduled to be completed in 548 days. It is worth mentioning here that NHAI had terminated the contract it signed earlier with other firm, which had stopped the work in mid-2013 citing escalation of cost of raw material and abandoned the project at the end of 2016.
