NHAI eyes Rs. 20,000-cr assets' sale in Phase-I

In the first phase of its planned road assets' sales, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has targeted upto Rs. 20,000-cr from monetization of 30 to 40 road projects. The move follows the government's move to authorize NHAI to monetize the public funded highway projects in the recent past, Chairman, Raghav Chandra said, adding that NHAI is hopeful of bidding out a few projects by December but the process is going to be a continuous exercise and NHAI would take it from time to time. The nodal road building agency currently evaluating detailed traffic studies related to these projects, the revenue streams available and overall the financial viability of the projects. As a matter of fact, once these are ready, it will bunch some of these projects and would be able to bid them out as there is lot of enthusiasm about the scheme and NHAI is confident that there will be a large number of takers for these.
