NCRTC starts work on Delhi-Alwar rapid rail project
Fast tracking the construction work for the first phase of the Delhi Alwar regional rapid transit system (RRTS) crisscrossing through Delhi-Gurugram-SNB (Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror Urban Complex) areas, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started the underground utility mapping on the corridor. The RRTS project will be executed through ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology by which underground utility mapping is being carried out. Utility mains may include the lines for telecommunication, natural gas, electricity distribution, water mains, and wastewater pipes. The GPR technology uses radar pulses to detect these utilities and the investigation is being conducted from the IDPL Complex in Gurugram and will continue for about 40 days. Meanwhile, the NCRTC Board has approved the DPR of the 106 km long Delhi-Gurugram-SNB corridor for which geotechnical investigation and pile load test have already been initiated. Once the corridor becomes operational, passengers will be able to cover the distance between Delhi-SNB in just 70 minutes.
