NCRPB enlists 24 roads upgrade in NCR

Roads Upgrade in NCR
In its unfailing quest to do away with perpetual traffic snarls in the NCR, the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) has recently identified eight important roads in Haryana for complete upgrade. In addition to this, the board has also identified 14 road links to facilitate seamless travel and ensure development across NCR region. The concerned states have been asked to take measures like acquisition of land for the purpose in a recent high-level meeting, which was chaired by Union minister for Urban Development, Venkaiah Naidu. According to NCRPB sources, south Delhi is more prone to congestion, with seven roads connecting Gurugram and Faridabad. Apart from this, improvement of other links like MG Road and Link Road connecting Dwarka are also being considered thereby extending breathing space to the expressway. In its plan, the board has mentioned Kalindi bypass road from Ashram Chowk; Delhi-Faridabad bypass; Dwarka Link in Zonal Plan K-II connecting Gurugram taking traffic load off NH-8; Mehrauli-Gurugram Road that will be developed as NH-236 to ease traffic on NH-8; connecting Nelson Mandela T-Point at Vasant Kunj with the existing Gurugram-Mehrauli Road to reduce travel time; upgrading Gwal Pahari Mandi Gadaipur-Jaunpur Road up to Andheria Mor in Delhi.
