NCC commands order book worth ₹35,000-cr

NCC
Hyderabad-based diversified construction company, NCC Ltd is betting big on EPC projects and cash contracts in infrastructure and building segments and is currently commanding an order book of ₹35,000 crore, said an official spokesperson. The company also plans to foray into mine development as a Mine Developer and Operator. The company, which clocked a topline growth of 60 percent at ₹12,200 crore in FY 19, is aiming for consolidation with an eye on a topline of about ₹12,500 crore in FY20. The ₹4,800-crore net worth company is focused on buildings, roads, water pipelines, which constitute 75-80 percent of the order book/turnover. It sees limited competition in this space where it has bagged substantial orders and has emerged as the second largest diversified construction company in India after L&T, among the listed players. It is involved in niche projects such as the ₹1,100-crore Seabird Naval Base Project in Karwar, Karnataka. It is optimistic of its growth in the next five years with its core strength being project execution. It is also keen to take part in the bullet train project (as major packages are expected to be rolled out), where it could take part in building railway stations, track-laying and execution of allied projects, said D Murthy, EVP (Finance), at NCC.
