NBCC bags ₹483-cr rail infra project in UP

Close on the heels of securing the Amausi airport venture in UP, the National Building Constructions Corporation (NBCC) has also secured Charbagh railway station development project in Lucknow on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. The project, which entails an investment of ₹483 crore, involves upgrading and augmenting passenger amenities in a time span of 24 months, General Manager, Northern Railways, T P Singh, said that re-construction work will include a face-lift of dilapidated portions, creating a second entry point from the rear of the station, rebuilding of platforms, new waiting lounges, waiting halls, multilevel parking lots, shopping complex, approach road to station, main entrances of railway station, restaurants, drinking water kiosks, first-aid sections, elevators and escalators. Civic amenities like washrooms, bathrooms, drainage system, water system, coach water fillers will also be maintained on a 99-year lease period.
