Maharashtra Government has announced ₹358 crore for construction, widening and strengthening of roads including the state highways, major district roads and other roads across Nashik. An announcement to this effect was made by deputy CM, Ajit Pawar while presenting the budget in the state assembly. Among others, the funds will also be used for the construction of bridges in various talukas of the district. The works sanctioned this year includes the construction of about seven small and medium bridges along with roads more than 90-km in length, which will be widened and strengthened. While in Yeola taluka, the public works department (PWD) will be spending ₹47 crore for the road works, similar works will also be carried out in Niphad taluka at ₹29 crore and in Sinnar it will cost ₹19 crore. Similar works will be executed in Surgana and Pethtaluka where the PWD will be investing about ₹20 crore.
