Nagpur metro gets ₹573-cr four-level flyover

Metro Projects
Nagpur is set to have India's first four-level transit intersection on a stretch of Nagpur Metro as the proposal to build a flyover between the railway track and the metro has finally been cleared by the NHAI. The mega ₹573-crore project has paved the way for the construction of country's first four-layer transport system in the city. The intersection was proposed sometime back near a ROB on Kamptee road along the Reach II of Nagpur Metro. The stretch already has a road and the busy north-south railway track and in view of this, the proposal remained stuck for a long time. The NHAI was unwilling to execute it without a financial back-up as it required funds to build the 5.3 km flyover from LIC square to Automotive square But with the intervention of the Union transport minister the project has been cleared. The highest point of the flyover at the ROB junction will be 14.9 metres and the metro viaduct above it will be 24.8 metres. .
