Mysuru Development Authority Begins Land Acquisition for 105 km Peripheral Ring Road Project

Ring-Road
The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) has begun preparations for land acquisition for the ambitious Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project, following directives from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during the Greater Mysuru Development meeting.

The 105 km-long, 200-foot-wide Peripheral Ring Road is planned to address traffic congestion and support Mysuru’s urban expansion over the next 25 years. The project aims to ease the pressure on the existing 45 km Outer Ring Road, which has already reached saturation.

Designed as a six-lane carriageway with 3+3 vehicular lanes and 2+2 service roads, the PRR will be developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The corridor will also include IT and BT parks, logistics hubs, truck terminals, educational and healthcare facilities, power substations, treatment plants, and industrial clusters, alongside plans for a 27,500-acre township on either side of the road.

With the CM’s approval in place, MDA has directed its officials to identify and acquire the required land to kickstart the project, which is poised to transform Mysuru’s infrastructure and economic landscape.
