Mumbai-Agra Highway Six-Laning Ahead of Schedule for Simhastha Kumbh Mela

Mumbai-Agra-Highway
The six-laning of the 20 km stretch of the Mumbai-Agra highway between Gonde and Pimpri Sado is slated for completion by December 2026, ahead of the original March 2027 deadline. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has accelerated the project to facilitate smooth traffic during the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela (Oct 2026 – July 2028).

The Pimpri Sado end connects to the Samruddhi Expressway near Igatpuri, providing a key route for pilgrims visiting Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. Post-Kumbh, the highway will be further expanded up to Vadpe, enhancing regional connectivity.
