MSRDC launches ₹213-cr bridge venture

MSRDC
The SPWD minister of Maharashtra has laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited six lane 2- km long Bhiwandi-Kalyan-Shilphata bridge entailing an investment of ₹213 crore in Dombivli and Kalyan area. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will build the project that will include two ROB (rail over bridge) one at Desai Gaon near Palava and second at Patripul in Kalyan, and will have 14 junctions and 31 bus stops. This will help people from Navi Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Kalyan-Dombivali, and even Ambarnath as the 21-km road currently has four lanes but the land acquisition for six lanes has been completed for 16 km stretch out of the 21-km. Due to heavy vehicular movement on the Mumbai-Nashik highway towards Pune, the road is facing severe traffic snarls at Katai Naka in Dombivali and Patri Bridge in Kalyan.
