MSRDC fast tracks Rs. 46,000-cr E-way project

In an attempt to build world-class road network in the state, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has fast tracked the 710 km-long Mumbai-Nagpur Super Expressway project entailing an investment of Rs.46,000cr, said sources claiming that the cost has increased by almost Rs. 16,000-cr as the total cost of the project at the time of change of government in the state was Rs. 30,000cr, claimed Managing Director, MSRDC, Radheshyam Mopalwar. The civil construction cost would be around Rs.24,000-cr followed by Rs.12,000-cr approximately, for land acquisition worth 10,000 hectares. Another Rs.500 crore would be used for shifting of utilities and the rest on the management and allied construction work. Apart from the construction of the expressway project, the state government has also agreed to fund Rs.2,400-cr for the construction of 24 townships on the upcoming expressway project.
