In order to provide hassle-free transport facilities across the state, the state government has launched an aggressive road widening exercise. In this connection, it has decided to widen the 55.5 km Chilfi-Kawardha road at a cost of Rs. 291cr; upgrading and widening of 80.09 km Katghora-Shivnagar section at Rs. 485-cr and also similar exercise on the 55.09 km Shivnagar-Ambikapur section entailing Rs. 335-cr investment. In addition to this, the state has also planned to widen Katghora-Ambikapur road with a length of 51.3 km Darrighat-Benari section at a cost of Rs. 491cr; upgrading and widening of 58.8 km Banari-Masniya section at a cost of Rs. 476cr; upgradation and widening of 74.8 km of Masniya Kala to Odisha border at Rs. 536-cr on road connecting Bilaspur to Odisha border via Raigarh, summing up to be a total of Rs.2,614cr, said official sources.
