MP takes up Rs. 3,000cr smart city project

In its quest to build world class smart city in its state capital, the state government in Madhya Pradesh has recently roped in a leading Real Estate and Infrastructure Consultants, Rudrabhishek Enterprises Private Limited (REPL), in consortium with PricewaterhouseCoopers and that the Union Ministry of Urban Development will also assist the municipal corporation of Bhopal in designing and development of modern infrastructure in the mega Smart City project. REPL developed the comprehensive Smart City Plan for Bhopal and was selected among top 20 in the list announced. This paves the way for Bhopal smart city to be implemented in the first phase with the central fund outlay to be allocated in current year. The planned smart city would spread over 350 acres at Shivaji Nagar, Southern part of Bhopal. The modernization of city requires an approx fund of Rs 3,000-cr which would be arranged by Central Government, State Government and private players under the PPP model, said sources.
