Tamil Nadu Road Upgrade
In an attempt to ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic on the Pedder Road in the Mumbai Metropolitan city, BMC, the civic body has decided to build a 2-km long tunnel project between Priyadarshini Park to Princess Street flyover opposite Taraporevala Aquarium said Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta, adding that in the project the committee has proposed a major addition to its alignment by adding an underground tunnel which will pass beneath Girgaum Chowpatty as part of phase II of the project. Road users, driving through the eastern expressway will greatly benefit from this amended route. They can cross the CST and get onto the coastal road through Marine Drive after crossing Metro Cinema. The 2 km long tunnel with a 2 X 2 lane will benefit residents of Navi Mumbai as well and moreover, the construction will not disturb the current movement of traffic on Peddler Road.
