MP plans 2,000 km new highways

New Highways in Madhya Pradesh
In its quest to improve the state’s road network matching global standards and also boosting connectivity, the state government in Madhya Pradesh has recently decided to upgrade a length of 2000 km state highways into national highways. The program will ensure the road widening with extra lanes and installation of new safety measures and devices. Funding for the widening and upgrading of the program has to be decided shortly. Two of the major routes to be upgraded will be the 376 km road connecting Chhindwara with Khimlasa and the 249 km road running from Kukshi to Jaora, said official sources.
