Adding to the road infra in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh, the Transport Minister has recently laid the foundation stones of three new road projects worth Rs. 2,655-cr including four-laning works of Parwanoo-Solan block on National Highway 22 (now National Highway No-5), Solan-Kaithalighat block and Shimla bypass. The new roads will add to the tourist inflow as good roads would promote the industry and the state would be benefited to a greater extent. He said that the Union Government had taken a decision that road construction work would be started only after acquiring 80% land and thanked the State Government for taking up land acquisition work and forest clearances speedily.
