MoRTH launches Rs.1,342 cr highway venture

The Union Transport Minister laid the foundation stone to the NH projects for 84-km stretch from Belagavi to Goa border via Khanapur, Ramnagar at an investment of Rs 1,342.98 crore. The project has been divided into two packages -- one from Belagavi to Khanapur and another from Khanapur to Karnataka/Goa border. The Belagavi to Khanapur (30.800kms) will be the four-lane highway passing through Desur and Ankale, which covers two roads over bridges and one major river bridge. The total cost of 4 lane roads will be Rs 856.20 crore and other package, Khanapur to Goa border (52.3kms) will be the two-lane highway which covers one major river bridge and three road over bridges entailing a total cost of Rs 486.78 crore, which passes through Londa, Ramnagar, Tinaighat and Anmod. The last 14-km of this project falls under thick forest for which approval has been taken from concerned authorities and mitigation measures were also approved.
