MoRTH kickstarts ₹3,381-cr in highways in Bihar

The Union transport minister has launched national highways and waterways projects worth ₹3,381 crore in Bihar including road projects worth ₹366.62 crore at Bagaha in West Champaran district, a road over-bridges (ROB) on NH 28-B at Bagaha and Mangalpur worth ₹62.48 crore and ₹68.49 crore, respectively. He also laid the foundation stone for widening of the 37 km long Manuwapul to Yogpatti-Nawalpur-Ratwal chowk road worth ₹128.90 crore; and for the development of national waterway 37 (River Gandak) from its confluence with river Ganga at Hajipur to Triveni ghat (Bhaisalotan Barrrage, Valmikinagar), where the 300-km stretch of river Gandak will be developed at a cost of ₹12.91 crore. These apart, a floating terminal is also being built at Kailashnagar near Bagaha and an additional floating pontoon facility is being taken up at Dumaria ghat. Phase -1 of the project is scheduled to be completed by 2020, the ministry said in a statement.
