MoRTH kick- start ₹5,124-cr road projects in AP

Adding to the road infrastructure at the Vijagport in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, the Union transport minister, Nitin Gadkari has recently laid the foundation stones for score of road and highway projects in the state involving a whopping investment worth ₹5, 124 crore. The first project, which entailed an investment of ₹2,562 crore, has been taken up under an ambitious road building program covering the entire Himalayan belt and named as Bharatmala. The second project covers Sabbavaram-Sheelanagar road stretch at an investment of ₹549 crore and the third involving the construction of six-laning of the Anandapuram-Anakapalle section of National Highway-16 entailing a whopping investment worth ₹2,013 crore, said official sources.
