MoRTH Introduces Vehicle Scrapping Policy to Phase Out Unfit Vehicles

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced the Voluntary Vehicle Modernization Program, commonly known as the Vehicle Scrapping Policy, aimed at phasing out unfit and polluting vehicles across India. This initiative is supported by a network of over 60 Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs) across 17 States and Union Territories, along with more than 75 Automated Testing Stations (ATSs) in 12 States and UTs. Additional facilities are in the pipeline, further expanding the program's reach.
