MoRTH hastens the groundwork on Delhi-Katra expressway

Union minister Jitendra Singh informed that the transport ministry has sped up the groundwork on the Katra-Delhi express road corridor as the land acquisition process is in full swing and the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra in J&K is visited by countless pilgrims round the year. The Union minister reviewed the status of various national projects of the region in the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic. In a meeting with the DMs and the senior officials, he directed them to hasten the process of the ongoing infrastructure projects across six districts of Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar and assured that the Katra-Delhi express road corridor is expected to keep its completion deadline of one-and-a-half year and also the river Devika project has picked up the pace. The minister issued instructions for expediting the work on the Dayalachak road in Basohli region, the Majalta bridge in Ramnagar and the proposed industrial estate in Udhampur.
