MoRTH Constructs 483 km National Highways in April 2024

In April 2024, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) made significant progress across various fronts. The construction of National Highways saw the completion of 483 kilometers, compared to 523 kilometers in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Additionally, MoRTH's capital expenditure for the fiscal year 2024-25 reached Rs. 54,545 crore by the end of April, constituting 20.04% of the total outlay of Rs. 2,72,241 crore. Land acquisition efforts remained active, with 88 notifications issued and approximately Rs. 600 crore processed in compensation through Bhoomi Rashi-PFMS. Furthermore, the Standing Finance Committee (SFC) convened meetings and recommended approval for three projects spanning 22.47 kilometers, with a combined capital cost of Rs. 764.38 crore. Alongside these operational achievements, MoRTH engaged in strategic discussions concerning the programs for the new government's first 100 days and initiatives aimed at advancing Viksit Bharat, in coordination with all relevant agencies and stakeholders.
