RITES to Supply 200 Passenger Carriages to Bangladesh Railways

RITES, a leading transportation consultancy and engineering firm, has secured a contract worth Rs 915 crore to supply 200 broad gauge passenger carriages to Bangladesh Railways. In addition to carriage supply, RITES will provide design expertise, spare parts support, and training services. The contract entails a supply and commissioning period of 36 months, followed by a 24-month warranty period. Funded by the European Investment Bank, the contract was awarded through a global competitive bidding process.

This contract further strengthens RITES' contribution to building railway infrastructure in Bangladesh. Previously, the company supplied 120 broad gauge passenger coaches, 36 broad gauge locomotives, and 10 meter gauge locomotives to Bangladesh Railways, in addition to collaborating on various infrastructure projects.
