MoRTH clears Rs.2,525-cr road projects

The Transport ministry has recently sanctioned four road projects of Rs.2,525 crore for Chhattisgarh and construction work on these projects is set to start shortly, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said, claiming that apart from roads, three flyovers will also be constructed on Raipur–Durg road at the cost of Rs.350 crores to ease traffic congestion. In addition, Rs.690 crore will be spent for development of internal roads in towns with 18 by-passes in the state. These include – Bemetara- Simga, Bodla-Kawardha, Masturi-Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa- Sakti, KankerKeshkal, Ambikapur-Sitapur, Pathalgaon, Bankuthpur, Sarangarh, Chandrapur, and Raigarh bypass. Construction of 80 km-long road stretch between Balod-Kusumkasa-Manpur and 104 km-long Bilaspur-Mungeli-Pandaria-Paudi also secured clearance and the construction work on this stretch will cost around Rs.795 crore and the chief minister will himself monitor these projects on priority basis.
