MoRTH Budget Unchanged, NHAI Allocation Increased

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has been allocated ₹2.72 lakh crore for 2025-26, remaining largely unchanged from the previous year. Whereas, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) saw its allocation rise to ₹1.87 lakh crore from ₹1.69 lakh crore last year. NHAI’s total debt, which stood at ₹3.35 lakh crore at the beginning of FY25, reduced to ₹2.76 lakh crore by the end of the third quarter.
