MORTH approves Rs. 2,400cr for road project

In order to fast track the Bengaluru-Mysuru road project, the state government has recently given a go ahead for acquiring 1,230 acres of land for widening highway from the existing four-lane to six-lane, said sources claiming that Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has already approved Rs. 2,400cr, the targeted funds for land acquisition. The process of land acquisition is in progress as the state wing of national highways and PWD has issued a preliminary notification for acquiring 1,230 acres not only for widening, but also adding two-lanes each on either side of the highway as service roads and that the state will soon have a 10-lane highway whereby the main carriageway of six lanes will be tolled and that the four-lane service roads will be toll free.
