MoRTH approves ₹4,405-cr highway project

The transport ministry has recently approved the six lane NH 709-B of 155-km connecting Baghpat, Shyamli, Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Geeta Colony and Khajuri Khas in Delhi involving an investment of ₹4,405 crore, the Union minister Nitin Gadkari said, claiming that the project has been divided into four packages -- 14.75 km long Akshardham-Geeta Colony-Shahstri-Park-Khajuri Khas-Delhi/UP Border at an estimated cost of ₹1,100 crore. The second package includes the 16.57 km-long stretch between Delhi/UP Border-Mandola-EPE Extension at a cost of ₹1,800 crore. And also the third package of 61.4 km from EPE Junction the starting of Shamli bypass worth ₹725 crore and fourth one worth 62.7 km long from Shamli to Shahranpur bypass, which entailed a cost of ₹780 crore and tendering process for all these road stretches is currently underway for all these mega highway packages.
