The Union Transport Minister has stated that his ministry has approved construction of an access-controlled greenfield expressway connecting the capital city of Amaravati with Anantapur. The 384 km project will be taken up in 12 packages for which the state government has agreed to bear 50% of the cost of land acquisition and will obtain necessary statutory clearances including environment, forest and wildlife. The state administration has also promised to help the transport ministry in every aspect so that the mega road and highway project is taken up on a fast track basis, said an official spokesperson of the transport ministry.
