MMRDA plans ₹15,000-cr new road project

In an attempt to reduce congestion at Western Express Highway (WEH), the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is set to clear the alignment of the coastal road which will have interchanges at WEH, at an estimated investment of ₹15,000 crore. The new coastal road from Versova to Ghodbunder will pass through Marve-Manori areas, with eight interchanges at WEH, namely, Malad, Marve, Manori-Gorai, Borivali, Uttan-Dongri, Uttan, Bhayander and Ghodbunder. WEH. This would be the second extension from the Versova-Bandra sea link project and is expected to be thrown open for motorists by 2022.
