L&T takes up ₹2,048-cr multiple contracts

L&T Construction has won orders worth ₹2,048 crore across business segments, said an official spokesperson. Its power distribution segment secured EPC orders worth ₹1,633 crore for the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project. Other orders have been won to build a 400/220kV Gas Insulated Substation in Andhra Pradesh Capital Region and a 230kV Gas Insulated Substation in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. These apart, 765kV and 400kV transmission line packages have been awarded by a leading power transmission company. The water effluent treatment segment secured an order of ₹415 crore from Tamil Nadu Water Supply Drainage Board for building underground sewerage to Kurichi and Kuniyamuthur areas of Coimbatore, and includes laying of sewer pipelines of 450 km, construction of RCC manholes, 30 pumping and lifting stations and providing sewer connections to 69,500 households.
