MMRDA Appoints Contractors for 9 Infrastructure Projects of ₹12,500 Cr
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded contracts for nine major infrastructure projects in and around Mumbai, with a total investment of ₹12,500 crore.
Key projects include the 13.45 km Balkum-Gaimukh Thane Coastal Road, which will cost ₹2,727 crore, and a creek bridge and road from Kasarvadavali in Thane to Kharbao, Bhiwandi, spanning 3.93 km at a cost of ₹1,525.31 crore. Additionally, the extension of the elevated Eastern Freeway from Ghatkopar to Thane, covering 12.95 km, will require ₹2,727 crore, while ₹1,981.17 crore has been allocated for an elevated road from NH-4 (Old) to Katai Naka.
Other notable projects include a 6.509 km creek bridge from Gaimukh to Payegaon (₹975.58 crore), a 1.64 km creek bridge from Kolshet to Kalher (₹288.18 crore), and a 2.16 km elevated road from Kalyan-Murbad Road to Badlapur road overbridge (₹451.10 crore). Additionally, a 608-meter-long foot overbridge will be constructed at Teen Hath Naka in Thane as part of the Metro Line 4 and 4A projects, with an estimated cost of ₹68.08 crore.
