In order to ensure smooth functioning in the mining sector, the Union government has decided to implement single window clearing mechanism in the auctioning process of mining blocks. Clearances like environment, forest and land rights are issues and there are delays in the process and that the government is going all out to implement this, Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Nayak said, elaborating that unless issues related to green clearances and land rights are addressed upfront, country may not make much progress in auctioning of mineral blocks in the future as the government and ministries of mines, steel and environment are working together in this regard.
