MHADA floating tenders for housing project

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has planned to construct 950 new housing units in Mumbai in the next couple of years. The authority will construct 450 houses for Middle Income Group category (MIG) in Powai and 500 houses for Lower Income Group (LIG) houses in Virar. Keeping in mind the current residential market trend, the authority will offer these units to buyers at affordable rates.

For 450 houses in Powai, it has fixed price tag of ₹60 – 70 lakhs and 500 houses in Virar are being offered at ₹15 – 20 lakh price bracket, Chairman – MHADA, Uday Samant, said. Powai will have an area of more than 500 sq ft and Virar will house an area of 435 sq ft. The new houses will be constructed on MHADA's land and soon tenders are being floated.
