The Uttar Pradesh government unveils plans for metro rail expansion, proposing a new route from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj via Chowk in Lucknow. Additionally, the existing Lucknow Metro will be extended to IIM Sitapur on one end and SGPGIMS Rae Bareli on the other. The Chief Minister has directed UPMRC officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed routes and ensure safety measures during construction. Preliminary soil testing and alignment assessments are in progress to facilitate these metro expansions.
