Odisha Launches ₹6,255 cr Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project
The government of Odisha has launched the Bhubaneswar Metro rail project, with an estimated investment of ₹6,255 crore. The state Chief Minister laid the foundation stone, marking one of the largest investments in any infrastructure project in Odisha. The Bhubaneswar Metro project is expected to be a major milestone for the state, enhancing public transport and driving economic growth. The first phase of the project will cover 26 km with 20 elevated stations, promoting transit-oriented development in Odisha. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been engaged as the turn-key consultant for the inaugural phase, with completion targeted within four years.
