Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a company engaged in implementing rail infrastructure projects assigned by the Indian Ministry of Railways, has secured a contract worth ₹1,134.1 crore for the Chennai Metro Rail project. The project includes the construction of an elevated viaduct spanning 10 km, nine elevated metro stations and a stabling viaduct. The company recently reported a 36.5% increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 381.22 crore in the September quarter of FY23, due to a 21.9% rise in net sales to ₹4,908.90 crore compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. This contract adds to RVNL's portfolio of metro rail projects in India.
