K-Ride Secures €500mn Loan & Grant €4.5mn for Bengaluru Rail Project

Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) (K-Ride) has signed a €500 million loan and €4.5 million grant agreement with Germany's KfW Development Bank for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). This collaboration aims to accelerate the much-delayed ₹15,767 crore rail project by facilitating the construction of Corridor 1, Corridor 3, and system tenders. The BSRP, led by K-Ride—a joint venture of the Karnataka Government and the Ministry of Railways—focuses on providing an environmentally friendly and cost-effective mass rapid transit system in Bengaluru. The total project cost is ₹15,767 crore, with a loan component of ₹7,438 crore from multilateral/bilateral financial institutions.
