The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) has planned to extend Mansarovar to the Badi-Chaupar corridor at both ends after starting construction on a 4.85- km corridor to connect two vital highways — Ajmer and Agra roads — with the Metro rail network at an investment of ₹1,270 crore. The corridor extension would not only relieve congestion in the Walled City but also improve connectivity for thousands of travelers and residents commuting between Ajmer and Agra. JMRC intends to extend the (east-west) corridor from Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar. CMD, JMRC, Ajitabh Sharma informed that Ajmer Road will have a 2km elevated stretch from Mansarovar station to enable Metro route connectivity until the 200-foot bypass junction. The agency has examined the technical and economic feasibility of the project. The project will decongest the inner areas of the city and link two major roads. The existing 12 km East-West Corridor (Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar) will be extended to about 17 km after its completion.
