HAML begins preparations for construction of airport metro line
The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) has begun preparations for the construction of an airport metro line, with survey teams gathering ground data to finalize the alignment of the route. This information will be used to determine the locations and heights of metro pillars and stations, as well as the profile of the viaduct. The top executives of HAML, including its Managing Director NVS Reddy, have already inspected the route from the Raidurg Metro station to the Narsingi Junction. The station locations will be located near major road junctions, and the corridor will be designed to accommodate the future growth of the city of Hyderabad. The stations and facilities will cater to the present and future needs of commuters coming from different directions, with multi-armed skywalks providing access in all directions. The existing corridor 3 (blue line) may be extended from the Raidurg station to the new Airport Metro Raidurg station by approximately 900 meters, and the possibility of combining the extended blue line with the new terminal station and the Airport Metro station will be explored. The new Airport Metro Raidurg station could be located on the first two levels, while the extended blue line station could be on the upper two levels, resulting in an integrated four-level station similar to the JBS station of corridor 2 (green line) and the Ameerpet interchange station.
